Turn your eligible drink containers into life-saving support for animals. By donating through the Containers for Change program, you can help RSPCA WA rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals across Western Australia, while also protecting the environment and wildlife too.

The Containers for Change scheme makes recycling easy and rewarding:

What containers are eligible?

You can claim a refund for most drink containers between 150ml and 3 litres.

Eligible Containers

  • Aluminium cans (soft drink, beer, energy drinks)
  • Glass bottles (soft drink, beer, flavoured beverages)
  • Plastic bottles (water, juice, soft drinks)
  • Liquid paperboard cartons (juice boxes, flavoured milk)
  • Steel cans

Not Eligible

  • Plain milk containers
  • Cordial bottles
  • Wine and spirit bottles (expected to be included from mid-2026)

Look for the “10c refund” label to confirm eligibility.

How much can I earn per container

You receive 10 cents per eligible container returned through the scheme.

Do containers need labels

Yes, containers should have a readable barcode and label to be accepted.
